What does a day at St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes Middle School look like? To give you a behind-the-scenes glimpse, we followed four students—Lena, Sammy, GiGi, and Sai—through their day, capturing the variety and excitement of Middle School life. From early morning advisory to afternoon athletics, each student’s day is full of learning, activities, and fun!
Our day begins at 8:00 a.m. when Lena, Sammy, GiGi, and Sai arrive at school and head to their advisory periods. Advisory is a chance to check in with teachers and friends before the day begins.
At 8:10 a.m., Sai, an eighth grader, dives into Algebra I class, honing his math skills and tackling complex problems. Meanwhile, sixth-grader Lena heads to P.E. where she gets her energy flowing before a full day of academics. Physical activity is an important part of the daily routine, keeping our Saints active and engaged!
Next, we follow GiGi, a seventh grader, to her Computer Science class at 9:20 a.m. Here, GiGi explores programming and problem-solving, building essential skills for the digital age.
By 10:30 a.m., we are headed to a Life Science class. From studying ecosystems to conducting experiments, it’s an exciting and hands-on way to learn about the world around them.
After a busy morning of classes, it’s time for a break! At 12:10 p.m., the students enjoy a well-deserved lunch and recess, with an hour to eat, play, and recharge.
Post-lunch, GiGi heads to Chorus at 12:40 p.m. to practice her singing skills. With music as an integral part of the Middle School experience, students have the opportunity to explore their creativity and talents.
Later in the afternoon, at 2:20 p.m., Lena and Sammy split off for their respective Performing and Visual Arts classes. Lena heads to Art, while Sammy plays with the Orchestra. Both are fully immersed in creative expression.
At the same time, seventh and eighth graders like GiGi and Sai shift gears for their afternoon athletics practice. Whether on the field or court, this is a chance for students to engage in teamwork and build character through sports.
Finally, the school day wraps up at 3:15 p.m., with the students heading home after a full day of learning, exploration, and growth.
Through this “Day in the Life” video, you’ll see that every day at SSSAS is an opportunity for our Middle School students to engage with academics, athletics, arts, and each other in a meaningful way. It’s all part of the dynamic, well-rounded experience that makes our Saints ready for success both in and out of the classroom.
