Fun Valentine's Day Activities for Children

The month of February is all about love, inclusion and friendship here at St. Stephen's and St. Agnes. And nothing brings hearts and minds together like a good book shared.

With Valentine's Day around the corner, the theme is Love and KissesI've also included some quick fun activities and a video to accompany a great story written by Scott Campbell, Hug Machine.  You may find these and many more books in Sinclair Library at the Lower School or visit your local library or bookshop. Enjoy!

Rhymes & Songs

Little Heart Action Rhyme

I have a little heart, (place hand over heart)

And it goes thump, thump, thump (pat chest three times)

It keeps right on beating, When I jump, jump, jump (jump three times)

I get a special feeling, when I look at you. (point to group)

It makes me want to give you a hug or two. (hug yourself)

Heart Fingerplay

I put my hands together (hands together like praying)

This is how I start!

I curve my fingers right around (curl fingertips; pull palms slightly apart)

And I can make a heart!
